the sky blinked back tears
cloud furrowed forehead
leaning against the wall
wept the mural into life
pain became remembrance
and the future became
possible

Welcome one
and welcome all
the old the young
the tall the small

the Henderkucky
sale awaits
you're close perusal
half-baked slake

estate sale maximus
tremendous stupendous
whatever you need
amazing or ludicrous

tiny cups for tea or more
giant pandas by the score
books of paper hard or soft wood
records too for every loft mood

fingers to water or feet to soak
bubbles to blow
for baths or jokes

cupcakes or cookies
with sweet lemonaide
tantalize your palate
while strolling a gaze

it's every last Thursday
the fifth Wednesday in May
the Henderkucky Estate Sale
the best place
to
play

Thanks Ladies!

the sun came out
today
it warmed the earth
teasing buds into
poking furry heads out
to test the air

the day began
earlier today
sunrise racing across the yard
chasing shadows and moonbeams back
into the night

the west wind sighed
today
seeing the end of winter
in its sights

and when the sun set again
as it curved towards the waiting earth
I distinctly saw it
wink
it was time
to rage
it was time
to groan
it was time
to hide
it was time
to despair
but then
suddenly
it became time to begin
to live
again
you can only be sad
so long
you can only hide
under the covers
so far
you can only weep
so much
and then you stop
but
but you can miss someone
forever

If I go home
before you do
this is what
I'm going to do

I'll run through fields
so bright and green
the sweetest color
ever seen

and then I'll stop
but not to rest
'cause I won't be tired
that's the best

I'll look around
and see the sun
soft and round
smiling at everyone

Then I'll run again
but you see
just for fun
there to the sea

the waves will roll
against the shore
calling me
to try some more

and there are mermaids
mermen too
dancing near the rocks
of blue

I'll wave and wander
on to see
what other marvels
there could be

trees of red
with sky blue leaves
flowers as wavy
as the sea

clouds of blue
and green and pink
with laughing faces
five I think

I'll plop right down
on grass so thick
it's like my bed
a feather tick

and glance around
I see some spires
is that a city
past the mires

but they're not mires
they're golden sheep
grazing in the
grass so deep

I jump up fast
I want to see
the spires, a city
gleaming free

I do not have to
stop for rest
my legs my body's
strong at last

I walk right through
a singing brook
and stop and stoop
to take a look

that can't be me
I gape in surprise
where's the white hair
the wrinkled gaze

my skin is smooth
my hair is long
and brown with gold
and silver strong

I look again
surprised to see
the city closer
than it seemed to be

I stroll along
and find a road
that wanders through
hilly abodes

but I'll stop here
don't want to spoil
your surprise
when you arrive

so if I go home
before you do
this is what
I plan to do

I'll explore
set up our home
sit on the doorstep
and wait for you to
come home
too
